ACA Plans (sometimes called ObamaCare or Individual & Family Plans) are major medical health insurance policies issued by insurance carriers that conform to the requirements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) – a federal law in the United States that aims to improve access to affordable health insurance for all Americans.
There are many plans on the health care Marketplace that you may qualify for. ACA plans fit within 4 health plan categories: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. These categories are based on how you and your plan split the costs of your health care.
This is a good choice if you want a low-cost way to protect yourself from worst-case medical scenarios, like serious sickness or injury.
If you qualify, you can get extra savings with a Silver plan, such as cost-sharing reductions and premium tax credits.
If you require a lot of care, a Gold plan may be the best value for you.
Your deductibles on Platinum plans are very low.
